Higher Information Analyst Band 6 – St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Essential Experience and skills

• Degree level education or equivalent experience
• At least one year of experience in a similar role in an acute NHS trust
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong MS Excel and MS Office skills
• Good understanding of database structure
• Good coding skills in SQL to manipulate data
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Quick to learn
• Able to work both on own initiative and as part of a team
• Able to manage own work and to deliver work to deadlines

Responsibilities

• Support to Senior Information Analyst in providing hospital managers and commissioners with evidence and advice required for service monitoring and planning decisions.
• Responsibility for the provision of regular reports, performance scorecards and ad hoc analyses, both internally and to commissioners.
• Encouraging and facilitating the development of a basic analytical capability in hospital operational managers and clinicians.
• Contributing to the development and use of Service Line Reporting.
• Working with the department’s Information Systems Team to ensure information needs are met in a timely and accurate manner.
• Working with the Data Quality Team to identify, understand and deal with data quality issues.
