- Senior Catastrophe Analyst to join the Latin America and Caribbean Catastrophe Analytics team.
- Position available in Ipswich or London.
- Opportunity to contribute to a key analytics hub focused on resilience in an uncertain world.
- Work closely with clients to understand and mitigate risks from natural perils and catastrophic events.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Contribute to renewal modelling projects across local and global accounts, developing and deploying service offerings with research teams and external academic partners.
- Quantify catastrophe risk using vendor catastrophe models and Gallagher Re proprietary models.
- Help develop and refine Gallagher Re’s risk view, ensuring clients have the most accurate information.
- Engage with customers, partners, brokers, and actuaries on model interpretation, portfolio management, and custom analytical projects.
- Collaborate with other business units on larger analytics services, supporting an agile team environment.
- Evaluate model updates and their impact on outputs.
- Provide post‑event reporting and detailed analysis of natural disasters to support clients after catastrophic events.
- Travel to locations such as Miami, Central & South America, and our analytics hub in India to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
About You
- Educational background: Degree or equivalent experience in numerate or hazard‑related subjects is preferred.
- Experience in the (re)insurance market and catastrophe risk analysis with main vendor models.
- Understanding of (re)insurance business, including reinsurance structures and their application.
- Client‑facing skills: Ability to lead analytics relationships effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SQL and other coding languages (e.g., Python, R).
- Excellent communication skills; Spanish‑speaking ability is highly beneficial.
- Team orientation and strong desire to learn and grow within a global market leader.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
