ICT Technical Support Officer – Band 3, 12 month fixed term (possible extension)
Hours: 37.5 per week. Shift rota Monday‑Friday 7.30–18.00.
Location: Tameside General Hospital site. Service desk providing first‑line support to the organisation’s computer users.
Responsibilities
- Log, monitor and raise incidents & service requests, following ITIL best practice.
- Maintain Incident and Service Request records, diagnose ICT issues for all organisational systems.
- Resolve basic incidents and service requests at first point of contact.
- Escalate calls to second and third line support when required.
- Act as hub for all ICT related queries, incidents and requests; record and manage all communications.
- Provide first‑line support for computer users and central computer systems using service management tools and network support software.
- Participate in technical rotation with second tier technical team.
Qualifications and Personal Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Broad understanding of PCs and related hardware.
- Reliable, energetic, efficient, and effective service provision.
