The role is to coordinate and manage interventional clinical trials within the neurology research portfolio at St George's.

The post holder will work collaboratively with research teams and the multidisciplinary team, managing their own caseload of clinical trial patients and ensuring achievement of local and national targets.

This position is ideal for a nurse or practitioner with experience in designated disease areas and a strong interest in research.

Qualification and Training

  • Educated to diploma/degree level in Nursing
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate
  • Relevant Post-Registration Training
  • RN with Current NMC Pin

Experience

  • Previous experience in audit and evaluation
  • Experience explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear simplified manner
  • Experience in Neurology disease
  • Previous experience in Clinical Trial Delivery
  • Experience working as a preceptor/facilitator
  • Experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff

Skills

  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Working well as part of a cross‑disciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent use of relevant softwareExperience in ECG’s, spirometry and phlebotomy
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Knowledge

  • Experience in ECG’s, spirometry and phlebotomy
  • Awareness of clinical research methodology and treatment protocols
  • Participation in basic clinical or nursing research

Other

  • Motivated & demonstrates enthusiasm for the clinical specialty
  • Adaptable & responsive to changing needs
  • Able to use own initiative
