We are inviting applicants for the post of Clinical Research Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology. Candidates should be highly motivated to undertake a postgraduate degree and they will be expected to register (and self-fund) an MPhil with the University of Manchester, with the potential to convert this to an MD degree, depending on academic progress. These are also clinical posts and candidates should be at a level expected of an ST3+ trainee. The split between academic and clinical time is 60%/40%. Candidates who are successful at interview will be expected to apply for Out of Program Research (OOPR) if they are currently in a training post.
This post is ideally suited towards candidates considering future subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology, whilst maintaining clinical skills through working in busy tertiary and secondary care settings.
The Clinical Research Fellow will be supervised by a team of consultants. The Clinical Research Fellow will need to respect the roles of others within a multidisciplinary team and communicate with them appropriately.
The weekly timetable will vary from week to week. The clinical component may include sessions in outpatients, theatre and ward rounds, or other specialist sessions. Research days are usually fixed.
Applicants are invited to contact the Lead Clinician for further details.
