Position Overview
A new Lead Nurse role is available to lead the nursing team within secured settings focusing on substance misuse, primary care, and health and justice services. The role requires post‑registration experience and strong clinical knowledge.
Responsibilities
The post holder will manage daily operations, coordinate shift planning, adjust staffing levels, and prioritise workload to meet patient needs and service demand.
They will provide and supervise holistic care, collaborate with other professionals, and lead evidence‑based physical health services within a multidisciplinary prison health setting.
Additional duties include planning, providing and evaluating a range of health interventions and contributing to continuous development of integrated prison healthcare services.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with post‑registration experience, excellent clinical nursing knowledge, and a desire to develop managerial skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
