Senior Psychologist (Clinical, Forensic, Counselling)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join a thriving psychologist team in the Complex Psychosis Pathway (CPP). The pathway provides a whole system approach to Mental Health Rehabilitation and Assertive Community Treatment in Leeds, encompassing level 1 and level 2 inpatient settings, a Community Rehabilitation Team and an Assertive Outreach Team.
Main responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological services to staff and service users in two level 1 mental health rehabilitation inpatient wards.
- Assess and treat own specialist caseload of clients and maintain associated records.
- Work autonomously, making appropriate decisions without frequent consultation.
- Conduct psychologically informed risk assessments, team formulations, and support staff to develop forums for case discussions, team formulations, and reflective practice.
- Provide informal and formal consultation to staff teams.
- Undertake audit, research, and service development projects across the service.
Person Specification
Experience
- Specialist psychology assessment, formulation, and treatment of clients across a range of settings (outpatient, community, inpatient), requiring sustained concentration.
- Experience working with diverse client groups across the life course, handling highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and threat of physical abuse with professionalism.
Skills
- Proficiency in a range of psychological and theoretical approaches; high-level knowledge of at least two specialised psychological therapies.
- Ability to provide consultation to other professional and non‑professional groups.
- Skills in research, audit, and evaluation.
