As a Pre‑Assessment Staff Nurse, you will:

  • Be part of a close‑knit team delivering matron‑led care in a consultant‑led service
  • As the first point of contact you will work with leading talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge base and assessment skills to ensure patient care
  • Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family
  • Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care
  • Build your experience across new practices, equipment and facilities
  • Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key

Shrewsbury hospital, ranked as ‘Good’ in the last CQC inspection, is purpose built and well equipped with 24 en-suite bedrooms, 3 operating theatres, an endoscopy suite, an Ambulatory Care Unit, and a busy outpatients department which includes physiotherapy and diagnostic imaging. Our diagnostic provision includes X‑ray, Ultrasound, MRI and CT facilities.

We offer the most up to date surgical treatments combined with a warm welcome and a professional and caring service from our Director of Clinical Services led nursing team. We specialise in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, cosmetic surgery, and women’s health, but also undertake general surgery, urology, and interventions for chronic pain management.
