Job Information: This would be Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00. The work will consist of outpatient clinics, across LRI & EMPCC at LGH. Admin sessions will be provided as well.
Job Summary
We’re recruiting an experienced ENT Consultant to join a supportive, patient focused surgical service, delivering high quality diagnostic, outpatient and surgical care across the full ear, nose and throat pathway. This role suits a locum consultant with at least six months recent NHS experience who can adapt quickly to NHS systems, pathways and multidisciplinary working.
This role offers a varied clinical caseload, with a strong focus on outpatient delivery, management of a broad range of ENT conditions and involvement in benign head and neck work. We welcome consultants with experience or an interest in otology and balance‑related services, supporting wider ENT service development.

You’re a GMC‑registered ENT Consultant with a strong commitment to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care. You work confidently across outpatient and surgical settings, communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
You bring a calm, supportive approach to clinical practice and are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, effectiveness and patient experience within ENT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality ENT outpatient, diagnostic and surgical services, including routine ENT and benign head and neck activity
- Provide specialist assessment and management across a wide range of ENT presentations
- Contribute to subspecialty clinics such as otology or balance services, where appropriate
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to facilitate person‑centred patient pathways
- Provide supervision and support to junior doctors and wider clinical teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
- Participate in MDTs, clinical governance, audit and service development activity
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Minimum six months recent NHS experience
- Strong experience in routine ENT surgery and outpatient care at consultant level
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Organised, adaptable and calm under pressure
- Compassionate, patient‑centred approach
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Subspecialty interest in otology, balance, thyroid or head and neck care
- Experience contributing to service development or clinical education
- Involvement in research, audit or quality improvement initiatives
