Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Officer

Royal Devon Hospitals Charity supports patients, families and staff across North, Mid and Eastern Devon by funding projects and enhancements beyond core NHS provision. This role focuses on creating and growing sustainable income from individual supporters.
Job responsibilities
- Lead high‑quality, insight‑led fundraising campaigns and develop Individual Giving, In‑Memory and Legacy activity from the ground up.
- Build long‑term supporter relationships that directly benefit patients and services.
- Design and deliver engaging, multi‑channel fundraising campaigns, develop compelling communications, and use data and insight to grow income and supporter retention.
- Work closely with the Charity Leadership Team and marketing colleagues to translate strategy into high‑quality delivery.
- Manage legacy income and a caseload of estates, working sensitively with solicitors, executors and bereaved families, ensuring all activity is delivered with empathy, integrity and best practice.
- Operate as a hybrid role based at either North Devon District Hospital or the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, with flexibility to work from home and collaborating with colleagues across sites.
Person Specification
- Proven experience delivering successful Individual Giving campaigns.
- Confidence working autonomously and motivated by building a new area with lasting impact.
- Strong marketing and campaign skills, with ability to develop communications and use data for growth.
- Empathy, integrity, and professionalism when supporting bereaved families and handling legacy income.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills across the Trust.
Working Pattern
37.5 hours per week. Flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend events; time off in lieu provided in line with Trust policy.
Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 per year pro‑rated.
Contract
Permanent, full‑time.
