Role Overview
We are seeking a radiotherapy physicist with a strong interest in computing or a Computing Clinical Scientist to take a senior role within the Scientific Computing Section of the radiotherapy physics unit.
Responsibilities
- Design, monitor, develop and support clinical radiotherapy computing infrastructure to enable state‑of‑the‑art radiotherapy.
- Collaborate with the SciCom team and a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, radiographers, medical physicists and clinical engineers.
- Maintain clinical radiotherapy skills in areas such as dosimetry, Gamma Knife and brachytherapy.
- Support registration as a Medical Physics Engineer (MPE) where appropriate.
- Provide clinical and scientific advice in radiotherapy physics.
Qualifications
- Healthcare Professions Council registration as a clinical scientist.
- Significant experience in computing; applicants with less experience who demonstrate aptitude and ambition in computing will be considered, commencing at Band 7.
Experience
Banding depends on experience within radiotherapy computing. Applicants who have played senior roles in radiotherapy computing projects and possess a breadth of skills across radiotherapy and IT are appointable at a higher band.
