We are seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering activities at a production facility in Manchester. This senior role is key to ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of high-quality food products.
The Role
- Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, coordinating the activities of the engineering department to design, develop, improve and test components and systems on site.
- Plan, organise and direct all engineering activities through electrical and mechanical engineers and other technical staff.
- Promote a strong health & safety culture and maintain and develop the documentation for the ISO 14001, BRC, Internal Technical & SHE legal compliance systems within the department.
- Effective management of the company PPM system to optimise plant efficiency, minimise downtime and manage an effective stockholding.
The Candidate
- Proven experience of Engineering Management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Good general level of education, preferably to HNC/HND standard in food technology and mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Track record of leading and developing engineering teams and performance management of plants and people, and supporting a continuous improvement culture.
