Your role:
Environmental Protection Officer (EPO) within the Environmental Protection Team.
Responsibilities
- Responding to planning consultations for air quality, noise and land contamination.
- Air quality monitoring, reporting and improvement initiatives.
- Environmental permitting: inspection of businesses and issuance/varying of permits.
- Management of contaminated land and private water supplies.
Qualifications and experience
- Environmental degree (Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Geography).
- Extensive experience in planning consultations, especially for land contamination.
- Experience in environmental permitting and land contamination issues.
- Experience in acoustics related to environmental protection.
- Experience working in a Local Authority or private sector dealing with environmental issues such as air quality, land contamination and noise.

- Sound knowledge of environmental protection legislation and guidance.
- Strong initiative and sound judgement, able to work across a broad technical area and within varied environmental protection functions.
