OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
A Material Planning Analyst in UML is primarily responsible for expediting supplier schedules, working with and communicating internally with the UML Operations team to ensure customer OTIF (on time in full) requirements are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expediting material/parts from UML production suppliers in accordance with our MRP schedules.
- Monitoring supplier performance to schedule and ensuring plans are in place with suppliers as required to improve performance.
- Resolving supply issues from suppliers or to our customers either directly or with support through escalation to line management.
- Set up and/or maintain accurate input/output information in our MRP system in relation to suppliers and customers.
- Working with and communicating with the Operational team in relation to production planning to meet our customer requirements.
- Update customer requirement plans and communicate demand forecasts internally.
- Co-ordinate with Logistics and support arranging transport/customer collections as required.
- Support paperwork required for customer deliveries.
- Liaise with customer material planning teams to highlight any significant changes in customer schedules and understand any potential impacts.
- Maintain any customer KPI’s/rating systems.
- Create and/or maintain internal Material Planning KPI’s.
- Review, validate and load customer schedules/demand into our MRP system.
- Prepare any required data/statistics/reports regarding customer requirements.
- Highlight customer run-outs and track engineering changes in relation to your customer products.
- Support customer meetings/visits as required.
- Support supplier meetings/visits as required.
- Understanding of the Unipart Way and the application of the tools and techniques.

EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge and experience of material planning.
- Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Working within high volume short lead-time JIT environment.
- Previous working knowledge of a production environment.
- Previous experience working with OEM Customers.
- Active user of MRP systems.
