We are currently recruiting for an experienced Agent to join a major infrastructure programme in Plymouth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical compliance, programme delivery, commercial performance, quality, safety and resource management to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required specification.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note this process can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Key Responsibilities
As Agent, your duties will include:
- Programming works and ensuring effective utilisation of labour, plant, materials and supply chain resources.
- Managing commercial performance, including target costs, actual costs, forecasts, cost value reviews and final account processes.
- Taking ownership of profit and loss for your section of works.
- Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with the specification and quality requirements.
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Leading technical teams and managing day-to-day project delivery.
- Managing client interfaces and supporting communication across project teams.
- Maintaining accurate records for labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
- Producing and reviewing RAMS and supporting the wider Quality Management System.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an Agent or similar delivery role.
- Strong background in reinforced concrete, groundworks and civils.
- Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, degree or management qualification.
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
- Awareness of commercial processes and cost control.
- Experience using Leica survey equipment, including GPS, total station, optical and digital levels.
- Strong technical, organisational and project management skills.
- Experience writing RAMS and working within a Quality Management System.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage project outputs in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence managing stakeholder interfaces.
- Groundworks, earthworks and reinforced concrete experience.
- Nuclear or secure site experience.
- Working towards chartership or incorporation with ICE, IStructE or another relevant professional body
