Overview
As a Transformation Manager you will oversee projects and programmes that deliver improvement and optimisation for the Environment Agency. You will lead a small team of project managers and continuous improvement professionals and contribute to a wider transformation team. Your role involves providing trusted evidence to inform leadership decisions, delivering high‑quality portfolio reporting, and driving consistency and alignment across change and transformation activity.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of projects and programmes, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and deliver benefits.
- Manage a team of project managers and continuous improvement professionals.
- Provide evidence and analysis to support prioritisation and decision‑making.
- Produce and communicate high‑quality portfolio reporting and analysis, capturing benefits and efficiencies.
- Ensure adherence to best practice for project, programme and portfolio delivery.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in programme/project management within a portfolio, with a record of delivering improvement initiatives.
- Detailed knowledge of programme planning, prioritisation and assurance in a complex business environment.
- Strong business case development, resource management and change implementation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Professional qualifications preferred: Programme/Project Management, Change Management, Continuous Improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
Employment
Length of contract: Up to 12 months. The role is national; working location is flexible/hybrid.
