Responsibilities

The post has responsibility for a large multidisciplinary team of professional and technical staff dealing with capital projects together with accountability for staff administering professional services and construction related contracts on behalf of the Council. The role provides a lead advisory for major works design together with the management of all associated major works programmes, including leadership of the design and specialist services teams for all property related works. This includes providing critical advice on all complex design matters, net zero carbon, pre and post construction operations, soft landings, and in ensuring that the appropriate level of staffing and training is met to the requirements of Scheme Sponsoring Departments and external Clients. This includes managing appropriate external consultants and contractors as may be appropriate.
