Purchasing Assistant £28,000 £31,000 + Excellent Benefits

Our client, a successful and expanding manufacturing business, is currently seeking a motivated and detail-focused Purchasing Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual looking to develop their career within a busy procurement function.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day purchasing of stock while helping ensure efficient supplier coordination and smooth communication across internal departments.

Duties:

*Assist with the daily purchasing of stock to support manufacturing operations

*Liaise with stores, accounts and suppliers to ensure timely supply and delivery of goods

*Maintain and review the Vendor Assessment Scheme to ensure supplier quality standards are met

*Coordinate the return of any non-conforming or unacceptable goods

*Prepare weekly reports, carry out data analysis and maintain purchasing databases

*Manage stock orders and support the wider procurement function with administration duties

*Support continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing processes

*Carry out additional duties as required by management

Criteria:

*12 years previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain support role

*Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

*Proficient IT skills with experience using purchasing software and Microsoft Office

*Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative

*Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

*Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

*Strong communication skills and a professional, team-focused approach

*Competitive salary of £28,000 £31,000 + Bonus

*Standard working hours:

oMonday Thursday: 8:00 am 5:00 pm

oFriday: 8:00 am 4:00 pm

o42 hours per week

  • Full-time office-based role, with potential flexibility following successful completion of probation
