Functional Skills Tutor – Central London (London Bridge) | English & Maths | Ages 15–25 | 1:1 Tuition

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced and dedicated Functional Skills Tutors to deliver 1:1 personalised English and Maths tuition for young people aged 15–25 across Central London (London Bridge) and surrounding areas.

This role is ideal for tutors, teachers, HLTAs, lecturers, and education professionals with experience delivering Functional Skills qualifications, employability education, or alternative provision support.

You will help learners build confidence, achieve qualifications, and develop essential life and career skills through flexible, engaging tuition.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 Functional Skills English and Maths tuition

• Support learners aged 15–25 with personalised programmes

• Prepare students for accredited Functional Skills qualifications

• Build learner confidence, independence, and employability skills

• Adapt teaching to individual abilities and learning goals

• Monitor progress and complete session reports

• Liaise with families, professionals, and referral partners where required

Candidate Requirements

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths

• Strong knowledge of Functional Skills frameworks and learner progression pathways

• Teaching, tutoring, or vocational education experience preferred

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Patient, engaging, and adaptable approach

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

• Right to work in the UK

Location

London Bridge and surrounding Central London areas

Sessions delivered in homes, libraries, learning hubs, and community venues
