SEN Teaching Assistant (SENTA) – Primary Schools
Location: Liverpool
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time & part-time roles available | Temporary & long-term positions
About the Role
We are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of primary schools in Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about inclusive education and supporting children to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies
- Assisting with personalised learning plans and interventions
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation where required
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (school-based experience preferred)
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (or already on the update service)
- Relevant SEN or TA qualification is desirable but not essential
