SEND Work Placement & Travel Training Co-ordinator
Location: Stanwell Moor (near Heathrow T5)Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience & qualifications)Full-time | Term-time only + 1 additional weekTypical hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:30pm (flexibility required)
I am recruiting for a passionate and proactive SEND Work Placement & Travel Training Co-ordinator to join my client's team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll support young people with SEN to prepare for adulthood by accessing work placements, developing independence, and building essential life skills.
Working closely with learners, families, and local employers, you’ll play a key role in opening up real-world opportunities and helping each individual achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, assess, and develop work experience and volunteering placements
- Build relationships with local employers and community organisations
- Support learners in identifying their interests and career goals
- Plan and oversee on-site and off-site placements
- Monitor learner progress and set individual targets
- Deliver and support travel training to build independence
- Maintain accurate records (ILPs, risk assessments, progress tracking)
- Support events, careers fairs, and internal activities
- Accompany learners on trips and placements
- Assist in classroom activities when required
What They’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people with SEN
- A genuine passion for supporting learners to succeed
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, xwzovoh “can-do” attitude
- Ability to work independently
- GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent)
- IT confidence (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance required)
- Willingness to undertake travel training sessions (may involve early/late hours)
