Our client, Wrexham council is seeking a Children's Social Worker to join their Court/Locality Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Manage a varied caseload of children and families, carrying out statutory assessments, direct work, and home visits to safeguard and promote children’s wellbeing.
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based court reports, including statements, chronologies, and care plans, in line with legal requirements and best practice.
  • Represent the local authority in family court proceedings, presenting professional evidence and providing clear recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Lead on robust care planning, ensuring timely interventions and coordinated multi-agency support that reflects the child’s needs and long-term outcomes.
  • Undertake comprehensive risk assessments to identify safeguarding concerns, analyse family dynamics, and determine appropriate protective measures.
  • Build purposeful relationships with children and parents, delivering direct work that supports change, stability, and safe permanency options.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies—such as health, education, and police—to share information and ensure an integrated safeguarding response.
  • Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation in line with statutory guidance, local procedures, and professional standards.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
  • Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
