With a strong focus on safety, sustainability and technical excellence, the business offers a collaborative environment with opportunities to work on nationally significant traffic and technology schemes.Your new role As a Traffic Signals Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of traffic signal schemes ranging from new installations to refurbishments and upgrades. You will support a growing design team working across National Highways and local authority frameworks.Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing technically sound traffic signals designs, calculations, drawings and documentation
• Delivering designs in line with programme, cost and quality requirements
• Identifying and managing design risks in accordance with CDM regulations
• Liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical queries
• Supporting and overseeing junior engineers where appropriate
• Contributing to bid submissions and wider work-winning activities
• Promoting and embedding effective health and safety practices

This role can be based from multiple regional offices with hybrid work available.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in traffic signals design, ideally from an assistant or design engineer role
• Working knowledge of traffic signals design standards, processes and procedures
• Strong AutoCAD and KeySignals capability
• Experience using LINSIG for junction modelling
• Ability to produce detailed signal designs, including controller configuration forms
• Exposure to Factory and Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning
• Knowledge of SCOOT UTC and/or MOVA design and validation (desirable)
• Understanding of CDM Regulations and design risk management
