1:1 SEND Classroom Support Assistant

A caring and inclusive primary school in Coventry is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Classroom Support Assistant to work part-time, supporting a child with complex additional needs. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing and confident working closely with a single pupil who requires consistent, personalised support throughout the school day.

You will work alongside the class teacher and SEND team to help the child access learning, regulate emotions and feel safe, supported and understood.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong SEND experience is essential
• Confident supporting pupils with complex needs
• Ability to build trust and provide consistent 1:1 support
• Calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Role Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support for a child with complex SEND needs
• Assisting with communication, emotional regulation and daily routines
• Supporting learning activities and personalised interventions
• Helping the pupil stay engaged, safe and confident
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team
• Contributing to a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment
