We are working with a leading UK infrastructure delivery organisation to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer (Design) for their expanding in-house engineering consultancy, based in Bridgend.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to join a technically driven design team delivering complex UK infrastructure projects across highways, drainage, heavy industrial, power and design & build sectors. You’ll benefit from real technical ownership, close collaboration with delivery teams, and genuine scope to influence design outcomes.

The Role

Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical delivery and management of either several smaller schemes or a larger project, supporting works from concept through to construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering civil design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality targets
  • Planning, coordinating and managing tasks, resources and technical outputs
  • Producing high-quality design calculations, drawings and technical reports in line with Eurocodes and UK industry standards
  • Managing project budgets with an understanding of commercial frameworks
  • Mentoring and providing technical support to Engineers, Graduates and Technicians
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary design inputs to ensure robust and buildable solutions
  • Working collaboratively with clients, contractors and the wider supply chain
  • Attending site as required to support design development and construction delivery

About You

To be considered, you will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
  • Strong technical civil design experience on UK infrastructure projects
  • Good working knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards
  • Experience mentoring or technically guiding junior engineers
  • Confidence working closely with contractors and delivery teams
  • A UK/EEC driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel to other UK offices, project sites or client locations when required
  • Chartered status (or working towards chartership) is desirable, but not essential. xwzovoh

Why Apply?

  • Join a contractor-backed in-house design environment with genuine influence over buildable solutions
  • Exposure to major, high-profile infrastructure projects
  • Clear opportunities for progression as the design function continues to grow
  • Flexible, hybrid working arrangements
  • Supportive culture focused on technical excellence and professional development
