Head of Modern Foreign Languages

Inspire global citizens through language at a high-performing all-through academy known for its strong outcomes, inclusive ethos, and aspirational culture. We are seeking an ambitious and inspiring Head of Modern Foreign Languages to lead and further develop a thriving MFL provision.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead, manage, and inspire the MFL department across the academy.
- Drive high-quality teaching and learning from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5.
- Develop and embed a rigorous, inclusive, and engaging MFL curriculum.
- Use data effectively to raise achievement and close gaps.
- Promote languages through enrichment, extra-curricular opportunities, and cultural capital.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching MFL in a secondary school.
- Proven ability to raise standards and improve outcomes.
- Confidence using assessment data to inform teaching and intervention.
- Strong leadership potential and commitment to inclusive practice.
- Experience teaching A Level is desirable.
- Postgraduate study or leadership development qualifications are advantageous.
