An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join the opening team of Jackson Boxer's latest restaurant venture in London, Vesper, EC1
From the team behind acclaimed restaurants such as Dove and Brunswick House, this new project is a high-end neighbourhood bistro with an elegant dining room and a refined yet approachable menu. The kitchen will focus on exceptional produce, classic foundations, and modern techniques, delivering beautifully executed dishes that celebrate simplicity and seasonality.
This Junior Sous Chef role offers the chance to be part of a founding brigade, working closely with an experienced leadership team, and playing a key part in establishing what promises to be one of London's most exciting new restaurants.
The Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising the brigade, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You'll take ownership during service, ensure smooth running of all sections, and contribute to training and developing the team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in running the kitchen efficiently
Supervise and support chefs across all sections during prep and service
Maintain impeccable standards of food preparation, plating, and consistency
Uphold strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation
Mentor and develop junior team members
Contribute to menu planning, seasonal specials, and ingredient selection

The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience in a Junior Sous Chef role or as a Snr Chef de Partie in a quality restaurant
Classically trained chefs preferred, with strong technical skills
Exposure to Michelin-starred or high-level kitchens is highly desirable
Strong understanding of classical techniques and modern cooking methods
