Do you have strong all-round trade skills and a passion for delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance? We’re recruiting a Skilled Multi-Trade Operative to support the upkeep and improvement of a residential portfolio.
This is a hands-on role for a customer-focused professional who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of safety, respect, and professionalism when working in occupied properties.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for delivering responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and void works, ensuring properties remain safe, compliant, and well maintained. Acting as a trusted frontline representative, you’ll provide a positive experience for residents while completing works to a consistently high standard.
Key Duties
- Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs, aiming for first-time fix
- Complete planned maintenance and minor works (kitchens, bathrooms, component replacements)
- Undertake multi-trade works including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting/decorating, basic electrics, and general building repairs
- Complete void works to agreed re-let standards and within defined timeframes
- Identify and report additional works, materials, and remedials relating to health & safety or compliance
- Record job updates, photos, and notes using handheld job management systems
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, planners, and customer service teams
- Travel between sites using a company vehicle where provided
- Participate in out-of-hours emergency call-outs (where applicable)
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a multi-trade operative
- Strong skills in at least one core trade with competency across multiple others
- Experience working in occupied homes and supporting vulnerable residents
- Excellent communication and customer-care skills

- Confident using handheld devices and job systems
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- NVQ Level 3 in a core trade
- Asbestos Awareness
- CSCS card
- Health & Safety certifications (e.g. Working at Height, Manual Handling)
- Basic electrical knowledge / Part P awareness
