Senior Support Worker – Children’s LD Residential Home (3 Beds, Birmingham)
Salary: £28,000 + Sleep and Overtime
Contract: Full-time, permanent
We are seeking a committed Senior Support Worker to join our 3-bed Children’s Learning Disabilities (LD) home in Birmingham. You will play a key role in supporting the team, leading shifts, and ensuring high-quality, child-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the smooth running of the home.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and role-modelling to support workers.
- Deliver personalised care to children with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
- Support communication, independence, and daily routines.
- Ensure safeguarding, care plans, and behaviour support strategies are followed.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
Requirements
- Experience in children’s residential care, ideally within LD or autism settings.
- Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of learning disabilities and communication needs.
- Confident, calm, and supportive leadership style.
- Ability to work proactively and as part of a team.
