Senior Sous Chef

Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our dy namic team and contribute to our renowned dining experience.

The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.
You will report to the Head Chef , responsible for the smooth running of your designated section in the Kitchen. To ensure all food service areas achieve a consistently high standard of food presentation suitable to that of an ambitious 4-star Hotel.
A Senior Sous Chef wil l be responsible f or :
Assisting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.

Supervising and training kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Developing and executing innovative menus, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients .

Overseeing food preparations , cooking, and plating, ensuring consistency and excellence.

Marinating inventory and ordering supplies, ensuring cost-effective and efficient kitchen operations.

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.

Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.

To be successful in the role of Senior Sous Chef we require:
2 AA Rosette location experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant

Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and trend

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities

Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety

Fluency in written and spoken English
