Complaints & Information Governance Team Leader (Children’s Services)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Complaints & Information Governance (IG) Team Leader to join Children’s Services This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Head of Complaints, Information Governance and Business Support, with responsibility for leading a high-performing team that manages complaints, statutory enquiries and information governance across the Directorate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and manage the delivery of complaints handling, Members’ enquiries, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, individual rights requests and enquiries from statutory agencies
- Ensure appropriate resources are deployed to deliver an efficient, effective and timely service across the portfolio
- Promote a culture of best practice, learning and continuous improvement in complaints handling and information governance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, systems, processes, performance frameworks and governance standards
- Interpret complex national policy and legislation and translate this into effective operational practice, acting as the Directorate’s subject-matter expert
- Provide strategic oversight that enhances organisational effectiveness and service delivery
- Manage complex, sensitive and contentious investigations, applying innovative solutions that protect the Council’s reputation
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with senior leaders across the Council and with external partners
- Line-manage up to 6 directly managed staff and oversee up to 12 indirectly managed consultancy or contract staff
