People Operations Specialist
Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home) | Base salary circa £60,000 + equity shares + benefits
An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Fintech startup, playing a key role in shaping people processes, systems, and operational excellence. This role combines employee relations, payroll, and ownership of HR systems, automation, and analytics, ideal for someone who thrives in a scaling environment and enjoys improving how things work.
What you will be doing:
- Own and manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Act as the go-to HR contact for employee queries and support managers on employee relations matters
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and HMRC requirements
- Own and optimise HR systems (HRIS, payroll), ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and scalability
- Identify and implement automation to improve HR and payroll processes and reduce manual workload
- Manage system integrations between HR, payroll, and finance platforms
- Develop dashboards and reports, analysing data to provide insights and support decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and tools as the business scales
✅ What we are looking for:
- Strong experience in employee relations and payroll
- Extensive experience managing and optimising HR systems (HRIS and payroll platforms) and system integrations or implementations
- Ideally experience gained in a similar environment including fintech, tech, or high-growth startups
- Proven experience implementing automation and improving operational efficiency
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
