Job Description:

Senior Product Quality Lead

IoT & Connected Systems Belfast, Northern Ireland Hybrid

About the opportunity

Our client is a global leader in smart fleet logistics and IoT technology, trusted by partners across rail, road, and air to transform complex operational data into confident, actionable decisions. They are seeking a Senior Product Quality Lead to play a central role in ensuring their products are genuinely ready for customers before they reach the market.

This is not a traditional QA or compliance role. The focus is squarely on system-level quality: how devices, connectivity, cloud platforms, APIs, and customer integrations behave together under real-world conditions, with particular emphasis on Alpha, Beta, and early Commercial phases.

Location and eligibility

This role is based in Belfast. Hybrid arrangements are available where business requirements allow. Fully remote working is not offered. Applicants must hold the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of application; sponsorship is not available for this position.

What you will be doing

  • Own system-level test intent and release readiness for new products and major platform changes
  • Define and drive Alpha and Beta testing strategies across device, network, cloud, and integration layers
  • Support and enable cross-functional testing by defining scenarios, success criteria, and system-level acceptance, without owning test execution
  • Partner with Programme Management to define release gates, readiness criteria, and go / no-go decisions
  • Aggregate results, identify patterns, and surface technical risks early with clear impacts and options
  • Capture and reuse system-level test learnings, helping to mature this capability across a growing product portfolio

Essential experience

  • Background in complex connected systems such as IoT, telematics, or distributed platforms
  • Strong experience in system integration, validation, or pre-launch product quality
  • Ability to understand and challenge system behaviour, technical assumptions, and integration risk
  • Comfortable operating in engineering-led environments with technical credibility, without owning implementation
  • Proven track record of influencing and aligning globally distributed, cross-functional teams
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, able to translate technical detail into clear, decision-ready input

Desirable experience

  • Direct experience with IoT, telematics, or other connected or distributed system products
  • Senior individual contributor mindset, with authority through expertise rather than line management
  • Demonstrated success influencing delivery and customer-facing teams in a global context

Why this role

This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor position with genuine ownership over release readiness. You will work in close partnership with a global cross-functional team and have the opportunity to shape how quality is defined and measured across a growing connected systems portfolio. The work is substantive, the team is technically strong, and the products you help ship matter in the real world.
