We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect / Principal Consultant with a hands-on cloud engineering background to join the Cloud & Technology Modernisation community practice which specialises in cloud migrations, modernisation and integration with primarily focus on AWS.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies and demonstrable experience in leading successful complex Client engagements across the domains detailed from on premises, other clouds etc. to AWS. Having a proven track record will include stakeholder management and establishing strong relationships at a senior level.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement AWS integrations using EKS (Kubernetes) and Lambda, with a focus on scalability and container orchestration.
- Build and manage secure REST/GraphQL APIs via API Gateway, including auth, throttling, and schema validation.
- Integrate with enterprise systems (e.g. SAP, Salesforce, Oracle) for both batch and real-time data flows.
- Apply Kubernetes and API security best practices, including TLS, KMS, RBAC, and service-to-service auth. Monitor performance using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and container-level logging and alerting tools.
- Define and implement client engagement strategies to enable the successful delivery of complex solutions.
- Oversee the delivery of complex AWS migration, integration and/or modernisation projects, ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction. This includes the execution of AWS Migration Readiness Assessments (MRA), AWS Well-Architected Reviews and AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) projects (Assess and Mobilise), ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with AWS account teams and other key partners.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the projects that the role is accountable for and stay abreast of emerging AWS technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in AWS cloud technologies, including migration, modernisation, and architecture. At least 5 years of hands on experience using AWS from the AWS CLI, CDK, Terraform/CloudFormation perspective.
- Over 10 years of experience in the IT services industry.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Fargate etc.)
- Worked for an AWS Professional Services partner and familiar with all AWS partner activities, e.g. use of AWS Partner Network portal.
- Strong integration background with platforms like SAP, Salesforce, and Oracle ERP and enterprise data platforms like Teradata and Snowflake.
- Proven track record in solutioning, leading and managing successful cloud projects and teams.
- Strong business and commercial acumen and understanding of the cloud market.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Strong leadership and team building skills when delivering projects for Clients.
- Ideally holds Professional level AWS certifications .
