The General Practitionerspecialising in Substance Misuse provides clinical assessment, and treatmentfor individuals experiencing drug dependency. The GP will support newlyreferred patients through harm reduction, detoxification, stabilisation, andrecovery programmes, ensuring evidence-based medical treatment

The role involves workingcollaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, recoveryworkers, and pharmacists to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

MBBS / MBChB or equivalent medical degree

RCGP Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse (Part 2)

Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)

Inclusion on the GP Register

License to practice in the UK

Skills & Experience

Experience working as a General Practitioner in primary care or community services.

Experience managing substance misuse patients.

Experience prescribing opioid substitution therapy (OST).
