Role
We seek a General Paediatrician with an interest in allergy to work in our busy secondary care service. This post has no night shift or on‑calls but resident daytime duties in evenings and weekends on the Child Assessment Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to paediatric patients as part of the general paediatric services.
- Participate in the junior doctor teaching programme and other non‑clinical duties.
- Work 10 PAs per week (average 40‑hour working week) including out‑of‑hours commitments.
- Cover the Child Assessment Unit (CAU) on weekends – 3 times in 14 weeks (one 2 pm to 10 pm, two 9 am to 9 pm).
- Cover weekday evenings 5 pm to 10 pm at a frequency of 1 evening in 12, together with five other consultants.
- Take part in the attending consultant rota, one week in seven, covering the inpatient ward and helping with acute duties on the CAU/ED in the afternoon as required.
