Description
px Group has been awarded a major Operations, Engineering and Maintenance (OE&M) contract by NZT Power and the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP).
This work will support two major regional projects:
- NZT Power’s carbon capture plant
- NEP’s onshore compression facilities
Over the initial five-year term, px Group will deliver the OE&M requirements of the Operational Readiness phase, supporting commissioning and managing the handover from the Joint Venture project teams into full operations.
The Opportunity
The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is accountable for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of all engineering and maintenance activities across the NZT and NEP assets. This includes ensuring full alignment with the px Group Operating Standard, COMAH regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance activities across NZT and NEP, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution in line with site and corporate standards.
- Develop and implement asset management and maintenance strategies for rotating plant, HV and LV electrical systems, and balance of plant equipment.
- Ensure all engineering risks are identified and managed through structured processes.
- Support Operational Readiness, commissioning, and handover activities, ensuring engineering systems, documentation, and competencies are established to enable safe and reliable operations.
- Provide leadership and technical oversight for major maintenance events, including outages, shutdowns, and unplanned incidents, ensuring effective planning, execution, and learning capture.
- Establish and maintain maintenance programmes, including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), statutory inspections, and condition-based maintenance strategies, driving continuous improvement and cost optimisation.
- Ensure the availability and competency of discipline engineering support (electrical, mechanical, C&I), leveraging both site-based and corporate engineering resources as required.
- Lead the management of HV electrical systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, safe systems of work, and authorised person frameworks.

Minimum Requirements
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
- Significant experience within the energy or process industries, preferably within major hazard or COMAH regulated environments.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex industrial assets, including rotating equipment, HV electrical systems, and process plant infrastructure.
- Proven leadership experience at a senior level within an operational or maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of asset integrity, reliability engineering, and maintenance management principles.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, managing long-term planning alongside day-to-day performance.
