About the Role

We are recruiting a Planning Enforcement Manager to lead Nottingham City Council’s Planning Enforcement service. This is a senior operational role with responsibility for managing a specialist enforcement team, setting priorities and ensuring timely, proportionate and legally robust action on breaches of planning control.

You will provide expert advice on complex and sensitive cases, including listed buildings, unauthorised uses and high‑profile developments, working closely with Legal Services, elected Members and partner agencies. The role combines strong leadership, sound professional judgement and a balanced approach that secures compliance while maintaining public confidence in the planning system.

You’ll play a key role in protecting Nottingham’s historic environment, supporting regeneration and ensuring development is carried out responsibly across a diverse and growing city. This is a challenging but rewarding role for an experienced professional who enjoys exercising judgement, leading people and making a visible difference.
