- Pay: £39.14 per hour, 3-4 hours on site plus additional planning allowance. Principal leads receive an additional day fee for initial planning and development ahead of launch.
- Location: Tramshed, South-East London’s home of participation, central Woolwich.
Job Overview
We are building new vocal and instrumental ensembles for children and young people aged 8 to 15, expanding our existing programme. Leaders will help realise our vision of more children making music several times a week, sparking passion and providing pathways to independent music‑making.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead engaging, well‑structured rehearsals for ensembles at different levels.
- Prepare programmes, conduct rehearsals, and facilitate performance opportunities throughout the year.
- Provide constructive feedback, set expectations, and support consistent progress.
- Maintain high standards of preparation, rehearsal quality, and inclusive practice.
- Collaborate with the team to design creative development pathways for each group.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in leading vocal or instrumental ensembles for children and youth.
- Strong knowledge of music education practices and ability to nurture musical development.
- Self‑employed status with flexibility to agree on additional holiday teaching.
- DBS Enhanced check and proof of public liability insurance required before work is offered.

Additional planning allowance, subject to group rate. Principal leads receive an additional day fee for initial planning & development.
