Overview of Role

As a Developer within the IS Grocery Service Centre, you will design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support our application landscape. Your coding, problem-solving, and collaboration skills will enable us to deliver high-quality software that meets business needs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement software solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain code using a variety of programming languages, APIs, and tools, writing clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
  • Contribute to the technical design and architecture of software applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Develop new features, modules, or components for existing software applications, adhering to established design patterns and guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve software defects, issues, and errors, employing systematic debugging techniques.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to understand requirements and refine solutions.
  • Write unit tests and contribute to automated testing efforts to maintain code quality and prevent regressions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for code, APIs, and software architecture, enabling clear communication.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, proposing innovative solutions to enhance technical capabilities.
  • Participate in Agile or Scrum processes, including daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to ensure effective project management and collaboration.

The Right Person

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Developer or related IT role.
  • Proficiency in C#, X++, T‑SQL and experience with Management Studio, Visual Studio, and SQL Server databases.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience developing on‑premise web applications, the Power Platform, Azure Cloud Services, and Dynamics 365 F&O within a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical challenges.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within cross‑functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • ITIL certified or qualified.
  • Beneficial if educated to degree level or has equivalent qualifications or experience.
