Interim Finance Business Partner / Senior Project Accountant (FTC – up to 6 months)
Salary: £45,091 – £48,226 per annum (depending on experience)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to provide dedicated, time‑limited support during a key organisational transition. This role will play a critical part in enabling the move to a single operating model for the management of large‑scale social housing properties.
You will lead on all finance‑related preparations for go‑live, ensuring systems, processes, and controls are fully designed, implemented, and operational within a defined timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the financial readiness for the transition to the unified operating model.
- Design, configure, and implement financial systems, processes, and controls to support go‑live.
- Ensure robust governance, reporting, and budget management frameworks are in place.
- Support finance system changes, including configuration and optimisation.
- Develop and maintain chart of accounts structures aligned to the new operating model.
- Deliver accurate reconciliations, financial controls, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, housing, and operational teams.
- Support cutover planning and ensure a smooth transition to the new model.
- Provide post‑go‑live support to stabilise financial operations and ensure continuity of service delivery.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Strong financial accounting experience within local government, housing, ALMO, or similar public sector environment.
- Proven track record supporting finance system changes, restructures, or organisational transitions.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations, reporting, and chart of accounts design.
- Experience working within complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
- Ability to work at pace and deliver within a time‑limited, project‑focused role.
- Strong to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Civica Financials (highly desirable).
