Essential Criteria
- Hold a teaching qualification that meets the requirements for recognition to teach in grant‑aided schools in Northern Ireland.
- Have a minimum of five years’ demonstrable teaching experience in a grant‑aided school and/or experience in an advisory/support role within the education sector.
- Have demonstrable experience of leading or managing staff within a school/education sector.
- Have demonstrable experience in the customisation and associated implementation of the school MIS.
- Have demonstrable experience in the effective delivery of in‑service training related to the post.
- Have demonstrable experience of curriculum planning in schools and the associated issues.
- Have demonstrable knowledge of current and anticipated challenges in the education sector.
- Be able to provide a suitable vehicle (appropriately maintained and insured for Education Authority business) or a satisfactory alternative means of transport to meet the mobility requirements of the post.
Additional Essential Criteria
- Show evidence of knowledge of C2k MIS software and e‑Learning and its role in teaching and learning.
- Display proven ability in high‑performance delivery of effective results on time, solving problems through informed decision making.

Job Description
Responsible for the provision of a range of training and support services mainly in the Core and Curriculum area of the EdIS/C2k system.
Key Purpose
Provide, under the direction of a Locality Manager, a range of training and support services in order that schools can make effective use of their Management Information Systems and other aspects of the EdIS/C2k provision, with which these interface.
Scope and Context
The post holder will contribute to the development of an overall implementation strategy in relation to the Management Information Systems and will provide training and school‑based and Service Desk support as directed by a Locality Manager. As EdIS/C2k operates province‑wide, applicants may be required to support the service in the Education Authority area.
Main Duties
- Assist with the design, development and delivery of in‑service strategies for schools’ use of Management Information Systems.
- Deliver effective training to clerical, administrative and teaching staff of schools within guidelines established by the Service Delivery Management Team.
- Assist with the ongoing development and enhancements of schools‑based systems, contributing to pilot testing of upgrades and development of system documentation, and participating in cross‑service meetings.
- Contribute to customization of the Core and Curriculum Systems and associated documentation within guidelines established by the Service Delivery Management Team.
- Provide progress reports and updates to the Locality Manager and the EdIS/C2k Lead Manager as required.
- Provide appropriate Service Desk, remote and on‑site support to staff in schools.
- Assist schools in using their Management Information Systems to meet external agency information requirements.
- Advise schools on security and control procedures in relation to their computerised management systems within guidelines established by the Service Delivery Management Team.
- Assist with team planning and staff deployment as required by the Locality Manager.
- Advise and assist senior managers in schools so that they can make effective use of their Management Information Systems.
- Undertake any other duties that may arise from time to time as directed by the Locality Manager or the EdIS/C2k Lead Manager.
