Physiotherapy Team Lead – Acute Intervention Team

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Acute Intervention Team at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as a Band 7 Team Leader. This role requires strong leadership skills and an ability to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care within a fast‑paced acute hospital setting. The team covers a broad range of specialities including Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Gerontology, Diabetic Medicine, Renal Transplant, Gastroenterology and Palliative Care, and operates seven days a week. The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly and innovatively to meet demand.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
• Effectively communicate with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Manage the caseload and prioritise and delegate patients as appropriate.
• Work closely with other members of the team in the multi‑disciplinary service.
• Effectively supervise, support, and develop junior Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Assistants.
• Collaboratively lead the Acute Intervention Therapy Team with support from peers and the Therapy Lead.
• Help drive the quality of the service and maintain standards.
• Help drive clinical improvement.
