The post holder will work as a specialist practitioner contributing to the development and delivery of a specialist parent – infant mental health pathway. They will liaise closely with multi agencies to implement a community based therapeutic service to parents to be, infants, young children and their families with a particular focus on early intervention. S/he will provide assessment and treatment for parents/carers and infants, young children and their families.
This post is open to psychologists, child and adolescent psychotherapists, health visitors, midwives, occupational therapists, social workers and nurse qualified professionals.
Main duties of the job
A successful applicant will work within the Bolton community to provide specialist parent infant mental health services to families presenting with moderate to severe relational difficulties.
The role entails: provision of specialist assessment, specialist evidence based intervention, multi-agency working, case load management and contributing to community based service delivery across Bolton.

Education and Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification eg. RMN, RNLD, OT, SW and current professional registration. (to be maintained).
- Specialist knowledge, training and experience in mental health and children’s mental health acquired through experience in specialism, short courses and/or specialist training to masters level or equivalent level.
- Relevant qualification in working with under twos/fives
- Relevant Parent Infant evidenced based interventions/training
Experience and Knowledge
- Evidence based and experience of reflective practice
- Audit and research practices relevant to clinical area
- Effective team working within a multi-agency framework
- Experience of working with parents and infants up to the age of 3.
- Management and supervision of staff.
