Quality Assurance Engineer

Overview

Navantia UK, established in 2022, is a subsidiary of Navantia SA, a Spanish state-owned company with over 300 years of naval shipbuilding history. In January 2025, Navantia UK completed the acquisition of Harland & Wolff and its four facilities in Belfast, Appledore, Methil, and Arnish. By combining Harland & Wolff’s heritage with Navantia’s global expertise, Navantia UK is positioned to strengthen Britain’s defence, maritime and energy industrial capabilities, supporting jobs and economic growth across the country.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and BS EN 1090 across all operations.
• Liaise with NDT and Dimensional Control departments to support inspection and validation processes.
• Support project-specific quality planning and maintain control of site quality documentation and deliverables.
• Conduct internal audits and external supplier audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
• Interface with clients, classification societies, and external auditors to represent the company's quality management system.
• Provide on-site support and guidance to production teams, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Engineering, Quality, or similar discipline (BTEC / NVQ or higher preferred).
• Experience in a similar role.
• Internal Auditor qualification (CQI or IRCA approved course is desirable).
• Lead Auditor qualification (Desirable, but not essential).
