As a Field Engineer, you will work on the frontlines of telecom network operations, supporting installation, integration, and maintenance of radio and BTS equipment across various UK regions. You will be responsible for ensuring network quality, performing on‑site troubleshooting, and supporting rollout activities.
The role requires hands‑on expertise in telecom infrastructure and the ability to operate independently in the field. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers looking to work on dynamic telecom projects within a leading contractor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain radio and BTS equipment at telecom sites
- Conduct on‑site troubleshooting and fault resolution to ensure network performance
- Support network rollout, upgrades, and optimization activities
- Perform site surveys, testing, and validation of installations
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements
- Collaborate with project teams and remote support engineers for issue resolution
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Field Engineer in telecom environments (Radio/BTS)
- Solid understanding of mobile network infrastructure and site operations
- Valid certifications required for telecom fieldwork (e.g., RF, safety, climbing, etc.)
- Must own a vehicle and hold a valid driving license
- Ability to work independently across multiple site locations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience with multi‑vendor telecom environments (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei)
- Knowledge of 4G/5G radio technologies
- Previous experience in large‑scale rollout or swap projects
- Familiarity with UK telecom compliance and safety standards
