To manage the funding, development, and delivery of a range of highways capital projects within the borough. The projects will be managed from inception through community engagement and outline design phases.
As Engineering Project Manager, you will manage a programme of highways capital projects from early feasibility through to delivery and post-implementation review.
You will oversee the initial phases of projects, including feasibility work, option appraisal, consultation, outline design and approval processes. You will also manage funding applications, control project budgets, monitor contractor and consultant performance, and ensure projects are delivered to the required quality, cost and time standards.
This role requires strong project leadership, financial control and stakeholder management. You will work with a high degree of independence, preparing reports, briefings, committee papers, project documentation and tender information for a range of audiences including senior managers and elected members.
You will play an important role in helping Southwark deliver safe, effective and well‑managed highways and transport improvements that support wider council priorities and community needs.
