Science Technician (Physics Specialist)

Pay: £110-119 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Long Term
We are working in partnership with a well-established grammar school in Sutton Coldfield seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support their Physics department. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high‑performing school environment where practical science is at the heart of learning.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging and safe Physics lessons, ensuring all practical work is prepared to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, set up and clear away equipment specifically for Physics practicals
- Maintain and service laboratory apparatus, including electrical and mechanical equipment
- Support teachers and students during practical experiments where required
- Monitor and manage stock, including ordering specialist Physics equipment
- Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations, including COSHH
- Maintain a clean, organised and fully functional laboratory environment
What We’re Looking For
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
- Previous experience as a Science Technician, ideally with a Physics focus
- Strong understanding of Physics equipment and practical setups (e.g. circuits, forces, light)
- Relevant science qualifications (A-Level or above preferred)
- Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
