Hutchinsons’ Central Midlands Agronomy Team is growing, and we’re looking for a Mixed Farming Agronomy Specialist to help build our presence across Derbyshire and North Leicestershire. What you’ll be doing
- Build relationships with new customers, introducing Hutchinsons’ products and services to mixed farmers.
- Deliver tailored agronomy advice across grassland, maize and arable crops.
- Support growers with additional services including nutrient and manure management planning and environmental scheme advice (with support from specialist colleagues).
- Provide technical and commercial support to help grow sales of specialist products (e.g., maize and grass seed, silage additives, grassland/maize fertiliser).
- Represent Hutchinsons at relevant industry and networking events.
- Complete training towards industry-recognised qualifications (e.g., BASIS, FACTS) through our Foundation programme.
What we’re looking for
- Knowledge and experience of working with mixed farming enterprises, particularly livestock-focused businesses.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term, trusted commercial relationships.
- A curious, proactive mindset—someone who’s keen to learn and develop, rather than having all the answers from day one.
- Motivation and tenacity to build a customer base in an area with significant untapped potential.
- A collaborative approach—comfortable working alongside agronomy colleagues and specialist teams.
