Overview
CYPMHS (Children and Young People Mental Health Services) Crisis Team seeks an inspirational Team Leader, a highly skilled and motivated practitioner with the appropriate professional qualification and experience to work within a multidisciplinary team. The role is a full‑time, 37.5 hour, 1‑year fixed‑term contract (secondment may be considered).
Responsibilities
- Provide strong clinical and operational leadership across the two acute hospital sites in Watford and Stevenage, and support the C‑CATT community site in Radlett.
- Work under the supervision of the Community CAMHS Manager (CCM) for C‑CATT, deputising and carrying out delegated roles, duties and responsibilities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a high‑quality service to meet the needs of children and young people in acute phases of mental illness and their carers.
- Act as part of the C‑CATT Leadership Team and influence team and service development.
- Support and lead clinical work, including duty and shift leading, overseeing the crisis care of young people presenting in mental health crisis.
- Understand and implement KPIs and throughput management to support service delivery.
- Provide culturally sensitive care, offering therapeutic interventions to families from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds, including single parents, same‑sex couples, extended families, foster carers, and those with mental health difficulties.
- Maintain a personal and professional profile in accordance with post‑registration requirements.
Qualifications
- Appropriate professional qualification relevant to child and adolescent mental health (e.g., clinical psychologist, qualified mental health practitioner).
- Significant experience working with children and young people in crisis situations.
- Demonstrated leadership ability within a multidisciplinary health or social care setting.
- Strong knowledge of UK minimum standards for mental health practice and post‑registration duties.
